When I was 16, I had to go the least glamorous route: fast food. Thankfully, I worked with a friend, so it was kind of fun.
It’s hard work, but waiting tables is a good way to go. It’ll give you the experience, too, because waiting tables is also a good college job. By then you’ll have the experience to work at high-end restaurants and rake in the big tips.
You could look into the mall, especially at stores you already shop at. That way, if you do get the job, you might get a discount!
Check the library to see if they need bookshelvers.
Remember to look good even when asking for or dropping off applications. Even when I was just an employee, my boss would ask about an applicant’s appearance when handing them the person’s app.
Wherever you do end up working, there are laws that your employers have to follow that will keep them from working you too many hours, too late at night, or during school. So, don’t worry too much about work interfering with school.
