The Ever-So-Fun Scheduling Process

Around this time of year, we in high school (and probably college, though I wouldn’t know), are presented with a list of course descriptions for next year, and told to make some selections. If you’re anything like me, this probably made you really excited, but even more nervous. My dorky side (which is pretty large, I have to admit), was thrilled to be decided which fun classes to take and being in charge of my own schedule. My other, slightly more practical side, was a little overwhelmed at the idea that I’m taking AP Biology, Physics, AP US History, Honors Pre-Calculus, and more, all in the same year. What’s sometimes the difficult part about scheduling is deciding how to balance what you want to take with what you know will look good on a college application. I’ve struggled with that, just like everyone else. But my parents believe in me (which is good, because they had to sign the final version!), and my counselor, though a little concerned about the difficulty of my junior year schedule, is there for me, too. Personally, I feel like if I can get through scheduling, I can get through the classes :)
