I have found and often times seen during my High School and Junior High career is that often time’s students lose sight of their goals. Take me for example, almost every school year, I start the year off with good grades, I get my homework done, and I’m able to balance school and extra-circulars. But then second quarter came and I started slacking off, and my grades reflected my effort. I didn’t feel I needed to try anymore, and that spending time with friends and what not was more important than my academics. However, my parents and teachers helped me to realize, that wasn’t the case. They explained to me colleges look at these grades and this was going to affect the colleges and careers I would get in the future. From then on out, I did my homework and I put effort into school. For awhile I stayed away from a ton of internet activity, hanging with friends, and sports, but when I once again got my head in the right place, I slowly allowed those things back into my life. Sometimes we get off track and lose sight of our wants and goals, but when we don’t catch ourselves falling into that pattern, there are usually others there to get us back on the right track.
