Don’t suffer from Senioritis

I know that as a senior, it’s extremely hard to focus. You’re excited about graduation, prom and college and the reality of all the fun you can have hits. You realize that school is almost over for you and you’re on your way to adulthood. You start to slack off in school and everything that you’ve worked for goes downhill.

Senior year can be both good and bad. The good thing is you’re finally graduating and you are finally able to attend college. The bad thing is if you slack off, your dream college might not want you anymore.

Senioritis, or the lack of focus graduating high school students have at times, can adversely affect you. Once you’re accepted to a college, they ask for your final transcript and they use that to determine whether or not you should be a student there in the fall. If the college you plan to attend sees that you did well in high school for three-and-a-half years, then sudddenly in the last semester of senior year, you only could manage to get Ds…you will have your admission status rescinded. Performing poorly in the final stretch only shows that you aren’t serious about school and your tentative college won’t care that it’s senior year and you want to have fun. They like to see
dedicated students, who are serious about their studies and can perform well even when the pressure is high.

Senior year should be fun, but it doesn’t mean that you should be able to stop doing your best. Senior year is the defining moment in your educational career. You have to do well in high school to get into a college and suffering from senioritis definitely won’t get you there.
