For myself, i plan to go into the medical field. However, is it best to go into nursing because of the fewer years and because it’s been said they hardly loose their jobs?

It’s really whatever you want to do. Yes nurses have great job security but if you want to be a doctor, be a doctor. That’s the point of college.

What excatly is the point of college? Yes, it is a place to where you get the knowlege to be able to work in the profession you wish to go into. Also, to better yourself as a person. However i don’t understand how that is the point? I wish to be a doctor but after hearing the less job lost of nurses, then i started to have 2nd thoughts. I wish for a job with job security, help others, good wage, and makes me happy. Being nurse is almost like a doctor only doctors do further study than nurses. Nurses are more there to assits. However, shouldn’t it be acceptble to go for a job that may not be totally of intersts, but it reassures good benfits and a job? I am more towards doctor than nurse but i am really trying to make sure i am secure.

You ask a very interesting question, which really has no answer. College is the time where you get to experiment and ‘test the waters’ without having too many consequences. It is where you get to take a pre-nursing course and a pre-med course and then pick your career based off which you liked the best.
It is normal to wavier about what you want to do in life. Plan to take a couple different classes, and ask a nurse and a doctor if you could shadow them for a day—see what they are all about.
