Anything that shows you are involve with your school. Also, things that show that you are leader. Showing that you are more than just grades is what you want to try to do. Being part of community service projects are also very good to show off to colleges.
I would have to say something that helps give back to the community or better yourself or chaacter. Yes, sports is obvious. but other things such as choir, acting, student concil, etc. Those things will strike interest and who knows you and that person may have some things in common. It strikes up a good conversation, relieves the stress you feel, better chance of getting into that college.
I don’t think it matters exactly what type of extracurriculars you do. Sports, music, clubs and community service are all good. What is more important is that you stick with them and don’t just join a bunch of things to look good on your resume. They want to see that you really care about what you do, and that you take leadership roles. It looks great to be a team captain or club president.
Sports look absolutely great. Student leadership is good, too!
I agree with Stacy, and so does volunteer worka nd community service.
Definitely community service. Even more than you need to graduate. I think having a job definitely looks good, too.
