The “It’s MI Life” initiative was launched in 2009 to help foster a culture of education in our state. Students, parents, teachers, school administrators and business professionals are invited and encouraged to join in this effort. Leading this initiative is the Michigan College Access Network, Michigan’s coordinating body for all college access and success initiatives, policies and programs.
Michigan College Access Network’s mission is to dramatically increase college participation and completion rates in Michigan, particularly among low-income and first-generation students of all ages. By 2025, the goal of the organization is to raise college attainment by 60%.
It’s MI LIfe is designed as a social networking site to engage kids across Michigan in conversations about college and life after high school. The site offers a non-intimidating, peer-to-peer conversational entry-point, while at the same time providing opportunities and resources for college and career planning.
