It’s MI Life Conference: What a day!
The first It’s MI Life Conference took place Tuesday, June 29 at U-M Dearborn. There were more than 30 high school and college mentors in attendance for a day of workshops and interaction with other teens interested in life after high school.
Here are some photos from the day.

Here’s what’s on the agenda:
Pharmacy career, part II
After I wrote my last post, about the possibilities of pharmacy as a career, I started thinking: I don’t know anything about this! Why not ask someone who does.
So I contacted a friend of mine, Richard Valone, who is a clinical specialist in the pharmacy department at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac. Rick has been a pharmacist for more than 20 years, and I knew he’d have some answers for me. He did!
Have you ever thought about being a pharmacist?
It seems like being a pharmist would be a great career. You are able to be very precise about medicine, and know the latest therapies. But you also are able to interact with people.
I wasn’t quite sure how one might get there, though. I’ve been researching a few schools, and thought I’d share what I found with all of you.
