Conference, Finals, and Summer, Oh My!
As I start this blog, I admit to being a little unhinged, and more than a little frazzled. It’s finals week, and I’m halfway done with the massive tests that determine my final grades. That comes together to create a very stresed Stacy. However, I’m trying to look past the end of this week to the word we’re all looking forward to: SUMMER! Summer means vacation, flip-flops, bathing suits, pools, friends, and fun. This year, it also means the It’s Mi Life College Tools and Tips Conference. If you’re not excited yet, I’d like to give you a few reasons why you should be! Continue reading
The Debut of It’sMiLife
If you’ve been hiding under a rock, you may not know this, but I’m here to enlighten you: The official premiere of It’sMiLife, this lovely site, is tomorrow. There’s a press conference, question and answer, and more. I might sound like a marketer, but the truth is that I’m excited. This is a site that provides great opportunities for college-bound kids like you and me. I’m so excited, in fact, that I’ll be attending said press conference. Continue reading
The Ever-So-Fun Scheduling Process
Around this time of year, we in high school (and probably college, though I wouldn’t know), are presented with a list of course descriptions for next year, and told to make some selections. My dorky side (which is pretty large, I have to admit), was thrilled to be decided which fun classes to take and being in charge of my own schedule. Continue reading
Communication – Huh?
As they say on ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ "Communication. It’s one of the first things we really learn in life." And that’s true. But that statement encompasses things like "Mama, I’m hungry," not "Oh no, I forgot to Tweet last night, maybe I can do it from my iPhone at lunch." Between in-person communication with friends, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, text, calling, E-mail, IM, and more, the world is smaller than ever. But how does that fit into school and life in general? How do you balance between Facebook-ing the night away, and doing your homework? Continue reading
Facebook Connection!
Now that ItsMiLife has a Facebook Connect option, I wanted to blog a few of my thoughts about it. I think it’s a great idea, personally. I mean, EVERYONE has a Facebook. If I need to get hold of a friend who doesn’t have a cell phone? Facebook. Need to contact someone about a school project? Facebook. Want to talk to someone with the same interests as me? Facebook! So the fact that ItsMiLife is getting in touch with its inner Facebook is quite refreshing, and hopefully we’ll get some new recruits to the ItsMiLife team!
