Blog, ask questions or become a student adviser

This site will only be as good as its teen bloggers, the questions and answers asked, and the interaction between high school students, college students, counselors and professionals. Here's your chance to be a part of things from the beginning. First, we need some basic information to get started. Then, you can enter your first blog and/or question. Here are some tips for blogging, if you have never done it before. We want to help you succeed!

Here are some ideas for you:

Write about your current situation. Are you thinking at all about college? If so, what would you like to do? Are you going through the application process? Tell others your thoughts, your worries, your questions.

  • Ask some questions about the topic of college and life after high school
  • Share something at least once a week
  • Invite other students to join in the conversation; Use social networking such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube or other, to tell people in your network what you’re thinking about
  • Give your feedback about the ItsMiLife Web site. How is it functioning? What do you need to know about college, careers and life after high school? How could the site help others?

Remember too that site is a work in progress. Your input will make all the difference.

For those of you who are very motivated, we'd also like to engage some members in FINDING the answers to some of the questions posed here. So if any of you see yourselves as future reporters or particularly good information gatherers, feel free to take a question from the site, find a professional resource to answer it, and post the answer -- with a credit to the source who answered the question, of course. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the site editor, Nancy Hanus, at nhanus@itsmilife.com.
