How to choose what college is right for you

First of all, when you choose a college, it has to be a place where you want to be. You have to see yourself in the college in a couple of years.

Size-You have to choose the size you want. Do you want small school where all the professors know your names, or a big school where you are just a spec in the crowd?

Cost- Of course cost is a factor in everyone's decision. (unless you are a millionaire, then you dont have to worry about the money aspect).

Paying for College

I'm really happy that I'll be able to attend college soon. But, like most students I'm worried about the cost. I'm happy that I participated in other things and I hope to continue doing so; those things allow students to have a better chance of getting scholarships.

Most people don't realize it, but you can receive scholarships from almost everywhere. There are scholarships for kids who bowl and a wide array of other criteria that increase the chances for scholarships.

Okay, you most likely are not planning on taking Chinese, and I have nothing against the Mandarin language. My point is that I stuck with something that I was horrible at just to prove that I could do it. But I couldn’t do it, and I took my GPA with me.

Consider the cost before heading out of state

Are you considering attending an out-of-state university? I know what you're thinking, you've been living in the same place forever, and now you're ready to go out and see the world--or at least another state, city, any place far away from Mom and Dad.

Unless the college you're looking at is the only one that meets all of your demands, you may want to take another look at staying in Michigan. The differences between the cost of in-state tuition and out-of-state are astounding.
